St. Albert Trails
St Albert Nordic Ski Club takes responsibility for creating and maintaining cross-country ski trails on the eastern edge of St. Albert. Follow Sturgeon Road to the City of St. Albert Kingswood Park Shelter, where there is lots of parking and a heated shelter with washrooms (see the City of St. Albert website for hours). Around the shelter, the groomers maintain loops for both classic and skating techniques. There is night skiing with a 1 km lit loop in Kingswood Park, and a connecting 2 km street light-lit trail that runs parallel to Sturgeon Road. When conditions are suitable, the club packs and tracks a section of the Sturgeon River to further expand the ski trail system.

Sturgeon County Trails
SANSC has worked hard with Sturgeon County, the City of St. Albert, the Riverlot 56 Stewardship Group, Cantiro Communities, and the Sturgeon Valley Golf Course to bring you new trails! Our network has officially expanded from the edge of Riverlot 56 into Sturgeon County towards Bellerose Drive and Starkey Road. This new trail network almost doubles the length of available trails and provides access from the Bellerose River Park. No access is provided from the Sturgeon Valley Golf Course.

Please help us by:
-
Staying on the groomed trails shown on the map.
-
Keeping the trails free of garbage.
-
Respecting the adjacent landowners.
-
Staying off the river except at groomed crossings.

Trails and Maintenance
Trail maintenance is done by volunteers. There is a science to grooming and our groomers are highly skilled and able to make and maintain the best trails. Your support to cover ongoing costs of maintaining the trails and grooming equipment is appreciated. Please consider becoming a member of our ski club or donating to help us maintain the trails for public use.

There are also a couple of ways to get trail reports. We update the Ski Yeg app with each groom. CCA has reports throughout the province and Ski YEG for Edmonton area.
