ARC'TERYX and SANSC

Arc’teryx’s “Outer Peace” initiative increases outdoor accessibility and nature conservancy to individuals who have not had equitable access. This grant assists people who have experienced fewer opportunities to participate in activities and experience nature's healing benefits. Scientific research shows that being immersed in nature possesses positive benefits on mental, emotional, and physical well-being.

“Outer Peace” hopes to dismantle the barriers of exclusivity associated with nature, making it accessible to all who want to encounter the beauty.

St Albert Nordic Ski Club was awarded a grant from this Arc’teryx initiative for the upcoming 2023/2024 cross country ski season. Our dreams are realized now that we have funds for lessons and to sponsor events, creating an awareness and love of this safe winter sport to minorities in our community.

In doing so, we hope to create more diversity and inclusion on the ski trails. We also want newcomers and other minority groups to be able to participate in a sport that will get them outdoors to enjoy our long winters.
