Celebrating our Diversity: Nordic Ski Day

SANSC is excited to announce that we are recipients of $2,000 from the @NordiqCanada Equity Initiative, funded by Sport Canada’s Community Sport for All Initiative.  This money was used to support the Celebrating Our Diversity: Nordic Ski Day project this ski season. Thank you @SportCanada_EN for helping us lower barriers and increase participation in cross-country skiing!

Le SANSC est heureux d'annoncer que nous avons reçu $2,000 de l'Initiative pour l'équité de @NordiqCanada, financée par l'initiative Le sport communautaire pour tous de Sport Canada.  Cet argent sera utilisé pour soutenir le project 'Celebrating Our Diversity: Nordic Ski Day' au cours de la saison de ski. Merci @SportCanada_FR de nous aider à éliminer les obstacles pour augmenter la participation au ski de fond !

St Albert Nordic Ski Club was awarded a grant for the 2025 cross country ski season. Our dreams were realized and we put those funds to good use providing lessons to many who could not otherwise access them and to sponsoring fun events, creating an awareness and love of this safe winter sport to minorities in our community.

In doing so, we hoped to create more diversity and inclusion on the ski trails. We also wanted newcomers and other minority groups to be able to participate in a sport that will get them outdoors to enjoy our long winters.
