All Bunny, Jack Rabbit, and Youth Development lessons will run in Kingswood Park and the Lower Riverlot from January to March. Start date is weather dependant but scheduled for January 9 (Sat.),10 (Sun.), or13 (Wed.), 2027.

Track Attack and Ski for Life lessons, which include a dryland component, will begin October 4 (tentative).

Please note that youth lessons are subject to cancellation depending on temperature and snow availability. We strive to offer as many lessons as possible.
Bunnies
4-6 Years Old, beginners to 2 years experience
This learn to ski program is suitable for younger skiers aged 4 - 6 years old. This program focuses on having fun and developing some of the basic skills in cross-country skiing, leading the children progressively through different skills while improving their comfort level and technique on skis. A parent/guardian is required to stay with their skier(s) during the lesson. The lessons run once per week, with options of Saturday or Sunday afternoons or Wednesday after school.
Maximum of 6 skiers per group.
Cost: $100 (rentals included).

This program for children aged 7 - 11 focuses on intermediate to advanced cross-country ski skills and is geared towards improving ski techniques in classic skiing with an introduction to skate skiing. The lessons run once per week with options of Saturday or Sunday afternoons or Wednesday after school.

Youth Development
11-19 Years Old, beginners
This program is focused primarily on building the fundamental skills and techniques of cross-country skiing for skiers new to the sport aged 11 - 19. All skiers will be provided rentals for the duration of the ski season and no previous cross-country skiing experience is required to join this group, though participants are welcome to repeat this class as many times as they like. The lessons will run twice weekly, on Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons.
Maximum of 16 skiers per group.
Cost: $150
(Note: Dryland training is no longer a part of this program).
Youth Development Ski Times

Wednesdays from 6:30 - 8:00 pm AND Saturdays from 2:30 - 4:00 pm
This program is focused on refining intermediate and advanced cross-country ski skills and further developing fitness through training for skiers 11 years old and older. In Track Attack, athletes will not only improve their classic and skate technique, but will also learn competition strategies, equipment care, and mental strength. Dryland training will take place in the fall and may include strength and cardio training, intro to roller skiing (weather permitting), pole running, orienteering, and other fitness activities to prepare for the ski season. During the winter, Track Attack athletes will compete in nearby races (loppets) throughout the season and their coaches will accompany athletes at the selected team events during the season. Skiers are highly recommended to have their own ski equipment, but rentals, if available, can be arranged for the season for an additional fee although they may not be suitable for racing. Please note that any athletes attending events must be transported to and from events by parents. Previous cross-country skiing experience is required to join this group.

Cost $425 (rentals not included). (Note: If rentals are required please contact sansc.programs@gmail.com to arrange to rent equipment for the season (additional fee) or for tips on where to paurchase new or used skis.)

Sundays 2:30 - 4:00 during the entire program duration.

Tuesday or Thursday evenings (TBD) during winter season only (Jan. - March). These sessions will be indoors (school gym, location TBD) and will encompass strength training, conditioning, mental skills, and team building activities.
Ski for Life *New this Season*
11 - 19 Years Old, 2+ years experience
This program is focused on refining intermediate and advanced cross-country ski skills in a non-competitive environment. Skiers in this program will improve their classic and skate technique, as well as build map-reading and equipment care skills while exploring the trails in St. Albert and Sturgeon County. There will also be an opportunity to participate in a fall dryland camp, as well as to participate in one winter ski excursion to a nearby trail network. The purpose of this group is to build skills and friendships that will last a lifetime, to challenge oneself, and most of all, to make getting outdoors in the winter fun.
Maximum of 10 skiers per group
Cost: $325 (rentals included, if needed)

Youth Lesson Pricing
Every youth must pay for club memberships and lessons and each family is required to provide a volunteer bond.
What is a Volunteer Bond?
All activities in the club depend heavily on the volunteer efforts of our members. Volunteering is a fantastic way to meet other families who enjoy skiing, learn new skills, and have fun. A $50 volunteer bond is required for all youth program registrations (1 per family). For families that complete a minimum of 3 hours of volunteer time within the season, this fee will be refunded at the end of the season.
Opportunities for volunteering will be provided in a sign-up sheet on a first come, first served basis. The volunteer sign-up sheet will be posted on the club web page. Volunteer bonds will be taken via a credit card deposit.
**Please ensure that you only use ONE email address so we can easily track and credit your volunteer time. This is the email that you use in zone 4 to register.

Cancellation Policy
Our cancellation policy for youth lessons is as stated below. Please read these policies before registering for youth programs. Requests for refunds based on extraordinary circumstances will be considered on a case by case basis by the Youth Program Director.

If lessons are cancelled due to low enrollment, lesson fees will be refunded but club membership, Nordiq Alberta, Nordiq Canada, and transaction fees will not be refunded.

If a participant chooses not to attend the lesson due to icy conditions or other reasons, the lesson will not be rescheduled or refunded.

Please arrive at your lessons early to help your kids find their groups and instructors. If the parking lot is full, there is alternate parking in the Kingswood neighborhood across the street.
