SANSC 2019-2020 Weekend Local Tours

SANSC would like to invite all members to join our Club Tours. SANSC Tours are designed to provide an opportunity for club members to explore new trails with friends and family, within 1-2 hours of the city. For youth who would like to participate, parent supervision and transportation is required. General format for SANSC Tours: meet at designated locations, overview of trails, assistance with waxing, groups self-assemble and select routes to ski, then meet back for post-ski beverages / campfires / etc. when available.

SANSC Tours are for club members. For liability purposes, friends or family who do not have a membership but would like to participate are required to sign the consent and risk waiver (from Nordiq Canada). The waiver must be submitted to a SANSC executive prior to participation in club ski events. This can be done at the trail head on the day of the event or via email to the club President at SNSCPresident.2020@gmail.com.

Skiing will be weather and snow permitting. Updates on whether the tour is cancelled or not will be updated via Tweets, which appear on the club web page.

Saturday December 21 10am -12pm: Blackfood Recreation Area

Sunday January 5 10am - 12pm: Strathcona Wilderness Center

Saturday January 25 10am - 12pm: Royal Mayfair Golf Course

Saturday February 15 10am - 12pm: Chickakoo Lake Ski Trails

Saturday February 29: Mooseheart Loppet (Edson)

SANSC 2020 February Club Tour: Hinton and Drayton Valley

​

Dates: February 21, 22 and 23 2020

 

Friday and Saturday ski at Hinton Nordic Center which features 35km of groomed trails with terrain to satisfy skiers of all levels (https://hintonnordic.ca).

 

Sunday ski at Pembina Nordic Center in Drayton Valley which features 20km of groomed trails with terrain to satisfy skiers of all levels.

Group Dining: Friday at Mr Mikes Hinton, Saturday at Olympia Greek Restaurant and Taverna (group reservations will be made).

Transportation: Carpooling and ride sharing is encouraged and appreciated.

Costs: Trails fees, accommodations, and meals are the responsibility of each participant.

​

Liability: Participation in the Tour is available to SANSC individual members and and member families. Non-club members can participate by purchasing a club membership or by submitting the following liability waiver (from CCC) to SANSC executive prior to participation.
