2021 – 2022 Adult Lesson Introduction

2021/2022 COVID UPDATES: Trails will be open and lessons will continue this winter with modifications to satisfy the latest and most current AHS recommendations. The City of St. Albert Kingswood Shelter will be open with reduced hours but its use is discouraged as a gathering and warm-up space. The use of masks during lessons is encouraged. Lessons will be adjusted to smaller groups to maintain physical distancing as required.

All participants must sign a COVID waiver before EACH lesson - skiers will not be allowed to participate in lessons without the waiver and refunds will not be provided for those that do not submit it. Please do not attend lessons if you are feeling ill or have had close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID.

Welcome to the St. Albert Nordic Ski Club’s Adult Lesson Programs!  We offer various lessons and clinics for adults to learn the fundamentals of cross-country skiing as well as weekly drop-in social ski nights.

Equipment rentals are available to registered participants for a fee of $75, which includes waxable skis, boots, and poles.  Use of the equipment is only for the duration of the course and will be issued to you on the first lesson day.  There is also a $250 damage deposit required along with the completion of the Equipment Rental form on this page.  Skate ski rentals are not available.

NOTE: All participants must be members of either St. Albert Nordic Ski Club or Edmonton Nordic Ski Club in order to register for adult lessons.  An individual SANSC is $25 and a family membership for two or more skiers residing in the same household is $50.  Each member must also pay a Cross Country Alberta fee of $8 and a Cross Country Canada fee of $10 (these fees cover the insurance requirements and are non-refundable). A registered adult may be accompanied by a registered teenage youth family member but the lessons are intended for adults.

All lesson instructors are professional members of the Canadian Association of Nordic Ski Instructors (CANSI). Check out the website for more information: www.cansi.ca.
